Venice - Itinerary 3
duration about 2 hours Venice can be easily reached by train in 20 minutes from Quarto D'Altino station. From the railway station of S.ta Lucia we propose another suggestive walk through the Cannaregio and Castello districts. From S.ta Lucia take the Lista di Spagna and arrived at Ponte delle Guglie, turn left towards the Jewish Ghetto and its synagogues. Characteristic and ancient district of Venice, where there is still a small Jewish community. Crossed an iron bridge, you will find yourself in Fondamenta degli Ormesini, full of small cafes and taverns along the canal. Halfway through fondamenta turn right towards Campo dei Mori. Here there is the house of Tintoretto, a famous Venetian painter of the 1500s, and the square with three statues of Moors and a fourth representing the servant, evoke trade with the Middle East. Continue unraveling through the small alleys in the direction of the Abazia and before entering Fondamenta S.Caterina, you will notice a bridge without balustrades, the last one in Venice. Immediately turn left towards Campo dei Gesuiti, where there is a beautiful baroque church and the former cloister now a very fashinable bar. It's worth a stop. After having refreshed yourself, turn towards the Fondamente Nuove, a beautiful walk along the canal. In front of the smaller islands, San Michele, Murano and Burano. Continue to the end of the fondamenta and turn towards Sta Giustina. Now the streets intersect and the direction is Arsenale, passing through San Francesco della Vigna, Campo delle Gate, Campo do Pozzi. The Arsenale, during the period of the Serenissima was one of the most important construction sites in Europe and the main entrance opens onto a beautiful square with lions that protect the entrance door. From here, head towards via Garibadi, a colorful district, once popular, where the Biennale of Art and Music-Dance is now held. For a coffee I recommend the la "Serra bar", in an old building from the early 1900s, located in a quiet and green corner of the city. From here, if you are tired you can take line n ° 1 and take a pleasant cruise crossing the Grand Canal to the train station.
